2007 Hyundai Accent Hatchback

A base GS and uplevel SE join the Accent lineup for 2007. Both are two-door hatchback models and are stablemates to the four-door GLS, which went on sale in December.
The base GS lowers the price of entry for an Accent by about $1,500, making it one of very, very few cars to start below $11,000.
Exterior
GS and SE Accents sport a fairly typical wedge shape, though telltale Hyundai curves are apparent. GS models have 14-inch steel wheels, while SE versions ride on 16-inch alloy wheels.
Interior
Like many small cars, space is cozy at best. Hyundai says the GS and SE have 92.2 cubic feet of passenger room and another 15.9 cubic feet of cargo room, which is generous for this market segment. However, if you want to transport four people, they'd better know each other pretty darn well. The controls and the dashboard layout are picked up from the Accent GLS.
Under the Hood
The front-wheel-drive SE and GS models use the same 110-horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder as the GLS. A five-speed-manual transmission is standard and a four-speed automatic is optional.
The SE has a standard sport-tuned suspension, which should make for better handling and a stiffer ride. This suspension is available on the GS.
Safety
Side-impact airbags for the front seats and side curtain-type airbags are standard. Antilock brakes are standard on the SE, but not available on the GS.
